Man charged with hate-motivated assault on Preston Street

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service has charged a man following an assault in the 300 block of Preston Street on May 14th.
At approximately 1:30 pm, a man approached two young women on the street and yelled sexually inappropriate, anti-indigenous violent slurs toward them.
Both parents intervened to protect their daughters and were assaulted by the man.

Suspects to identify in Laurier Avenue East Robbery

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a commercial robbery on April 14th in the 200 block of Laurier Ave East.
At approximately 2:30 am, a male and female suspect entered the store. The female suspect told the store clerk that she had a weapon and demanded money.
The two suspects fled the area on foot, with an undisclosed amount of money.
The clerk was not injured.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Neighbourhood Resource Team charged a man yesterday following public complaints of an individual causing a disturbance near Wellington and Lyon Streets.
At approximately 5:00 pm, officers responded to the area and located a man yelling and making threats to passers-by and other residents.
